About the Creation
“This cover took a while to ink originally, with a lot of detail. There was some very tight pencils by Mike (Zeck), and that was unusual for him because he was typically looser. I didn’t change much from his inks, making only subtle changes. He trusted me to do the job so I wasn’t worried about upsetting him. It’s become a very popular cover. I did the whole run, six parts, two issues in each title.” - Bob McLeod

Bob McLeod, born in Florida in 1951 is a Hall of Fame comic art legend who is best known for co-creating Marvel Comics’ The New Mutants with writer Chris Claremont. Bob’s illustrious credentials also include work on The Incredible Hulk, Conan the Barbarian, Legion of Super Heroes, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman and The New Titans, Star Wars and Spider-Man.
